PROP USER GUIDE
The use of Props for the temporary support of overhead structures should only be undertaken by persons who have the necessary knowledge and experience to do the job safely.
A risk assessment and method statement is required to review all aspects of its use, be used in an upright position and no more than 1.5 degrees off vertical as this will greatly reduce its Safe Working load and that ground conditions are fully reviewed as sole plates may be required in some instances.
Each Prop has an inner tube welded to a top plate that slides up and down inside an outer tuber that has a welded bottom plate. The inner tube has a series of holes that allows quick extension to just below the required height with the pin inserted above the collar to lock at that height. The collar is then rotated on the threaded outer tube which allows the exact height extension.
Props are designed to be used only in compression only.
Consult responsible persons with regard to the weight that is to be supported. Measure the height to be supported then carefully select the correct size Prop and safe working load. Please refer to the VR open and closed height chart and review the VRG 001 Prop and Strut Safe Working Load. IMPORTANT NOTE: Maintain minimum tube extension, the farther the inner tube extension out of the outer tube, the lower the safe load becomes.
Key points whilst in use.

• Check that each prop is not bent, damaged and has its original height adjuster pin
  
• Check all Props prior to use for ease of collar movement
  
• Inspect each Prop and Set Up a minimum of once per week or more frequent dependent upon risk assessment of use
  
• Ensure Props are taken down by suitably experienced personnel
  
• BEFORE putting back into stock ensure each prop is clean and has no damage. With draw any damaged Props

TRENCH STRUT USER GUIDE
The use of Trench Struts for the temporary support of trenches should only be undertaken by persons who have the necessary knowledge and experience to do the job safely.
Trench Struts are available in 4 sizes and are generally used horizontally for small shallow excavations and supports the walls of trenches to prevent collapse and as such each end has a clawed end plate to grip the lining.
Each Strut has an inner tube welded to a top claw plate that slides up and down inside an outer tuber that has a welded bottom claw plate. The inner tube has a series of holes that allows quick extension to just below the required height with the pin inserted above the collar to lock at that length. The collar is then rotated on the threaded outer tube which allows the exact height extension.
Always consult responsible persons with regard to its application and carry out necessary risk assessment and method statement.
Measure the length to be supported then carefully select the correct size Strut. All Struts have a Safe Working Load of 3 tonne at any extension; please refer to the VR Open and Closed Length chart.

ADJUSTABLE PUSH / PULL PROPS USER GUIDE
The use of Push / Pull Props for temporary support structures should only be undertaken by persons who have the necessary knowledge and experience to do the job safely.
Adjustable Push / Pull Props have a pivot head and pivot base plate and are designed to stabilise and take lateral forces, holding and plumbing single and double faced forms. The lower plate is fixed to a ground anchor with the top plate being fixed to the shutter.
Each Prop has an inner tube bolted to a top plate that slides up and down inside an outer tuber that has a bolted on bottom plate. The inner tube has a series of holes that allows quick extension to just below the required length with the pin inserted above the collar to lock at that height. The collar is then rotated on the threaded outer tube which allows the exact height extension. An additional locking second collar is included to maintain rigidity and safety.
A risk assessment and method statement is required to review all aspects of its use, be used in a secure bolted lateral position with the Safe Working Load varying greatly upon the extension and positioning angle.
Consult professional advice from responsible persons with regard to the weight that is to be supported. Measure the positioning height to be supported then carefully select the correct size Push / Pull Prop. Please refer to the VR open and closed length chart. IMPORTANT NOTE: Maintain minimum tube extension, the farther the inner tube extension out of the outer tube, the lower the safe load becomes.
